Get the most out of SIESTA
Whether you are looking for an individual item for yourself or a variety of items to resell, following some good practices will allow SIESTA to retrieve the most relevant items for you.
Tip #1 - Research Completed Listings
Research the selling prices of completed listings on eBay using
eBay's Advanced Search and marking the checkbox for "Completed listings only". Once you have an idea of the typical selling price of an item, set your max. price accordingly so that SIESTA shows you only the items that are really a bargain.
Tip #2 - Check "Buy It Now" Items
One of the biggest benefits SIESTA provides is the ability to constantly monitor Buy It Now items on eBay. Many people don't give Buy It Now items much thought because generally Buy It Now prices are higher than final auction prices. But this is not always the case. Occasionally an item is listed with a low (sometimes
very low) Buy It Now price. Maybe the seller doesn't realize the value of the item or maybe the seller just needs to sell the item quickly, but whatever the reason it does happen. However when an item is listed with a low Buy It Now price it is often sold within minutes. SIESTA finds these values and notifies you instantly so you can be one of the first people to see the listing.
Tip #3 - Use All Search Parameters.
If you find that you are getting non-relevant items in your SIESTA results, try setting more search parameters in the SIESTA item form. As you experiment with different search parameters you will be able eliminate non-relevant results and just see the items you want.
Tip #4 - "Set It and Forget It".
SIESTA was written to find bargains on eBay for you, freeing you up to do other things (like taking a SIESTA!). Once you are satisfied with the search parameters you have entered for the items you want to find, just tell SIESTA to "Monitor Items" and you are done! SIESTA will go to work continually scanning eBay for matching items. SIESTA will notify you when it finds an item by playing
this sound. When you hear this sound check your SIESTA results and you will see "
NEW ITEM!" next to the newly listed item.
